My Mind is Set for Miracles
I set my mind on miracles—and if I’m being honest, I set my heart too. I know the God I serve is the God of Ezekiel, who made dry bones live. That goes against everything logical and natural, but God did it.
> “So I prophesied as He commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet—a vast army.”
> —Ezekiel 37:10
That miracle was the very definition of an impossible feat, yet it was executed marvelously by a miracle-working God.
I told my children the story of a boy birthed in pain. His name even alluded to suffering, but with a single prayer, he changed his destiny and everything attached to him. His name was Jabez.
> “Oh, that You would bless me indeed and enlarge my territory...!”
> —1 Chronicles 4:10
If that doesn’t spell miracle, not to worry—I have more to tell.
There was a woman who had been bleeding for years. She was broken and in pain, but she believed that if she just touched Jesus’s hem, she would be healed—and she was.
> “If I only touch His cloak, I will be healed.”
> —Matthew 9:21
Elijah was translated. That’s a major miracle moment right there 😁
> “Suddenly a chariot of fire appeared... and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.”
> —2 Kings 2:11
He was also fed by ravens during a drought.
> “The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and evening.”
> —1 Kings 17:6
Elisha worked miracles too—he purified poisoned stew and multiplied oil for a widow.
> “Then bring some flour,” he said. He threw it into the pot and said, “Serve it to the people to eat.” And there was nothing harmful in the pot.
> —2 Kings 4:41
> “Now it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, ‘Bring me another vessel.’ And he said to her, ‘There is not another vessel.’ So the oil ceased.”
> —2 Kings 4:6
He was only able to do this because of the power given to him by a miracle-working God.
Then there was Daniel in the fiery furnace—bro, they didn’t even get singed. Miracle!
> “Not a hair of their heads was singed, their robes were not scorched, and there was no smell of fire on them.”
> —Daniel 3:27
And Esther—who ended up the wife of a king and saved her people through the favor she found with him.
> “And Esther obtained favor in the sight of all who saw her.”
> —Esther 2:15
I could list more, but dare I say—I rest my case.
Now, my mind is set toward miracles.
I can say:
God, as You did for Jabez, do for me.
As You did for Elijah—do for me.
As You did for Elisha—do for me.
As You did for the widow—do for me.
As You did for Esther—do for me.
Let your mind be set for miracles.
