START...there!

Image
It's August first and I spent nearly half the day already looking over my life for the thousandth time this year wondering where to turn and what to do and how to overcome all the obstacles that have presented themselves and all the ones that have increased. I have tried making a game plan all while sorting through feelings of despair, hopelessness, heartbreak and betrayal and even actual physical pain.  I have decided not to start this blog post in microsoft word--the posts that start there never make it here to the blog, even though finessed and structured to abnormal fallible perfection, I just never get around to sharing any of them and my mind drifts to the next thing or begins to pick the already edited writing apart again for the two thousandth seven hundredth and twenty one time--it's a cycle that produces no real results. I then sit with hundredths of drafts and finished work not knowing what to post, even with pieces that the momentum is already lost on--being a perfe...

But behind every luminous bridal look lies a perfect balance of preparation and artistry.  The Bridal Glow Blueprint reveals how healthy skin and expert technique unite to create beauty that feels effortless yet unforgettable.    The Science Beneath the Glow Radiance begins with skin that’s balanced, hydrated, and healthy.  Dermatologists and skin care experts call it “optimal barrier function” — makeup artists call it “the perfect canvas.”   When skin is well‑prepared:   - Foundation glides seamlessly.   - Blush melts naturally.   - Highlighter catches and reflects light instead of just sitting like glitter in pores and on the skin surface. ...

The Ultimate Guide to Glowing Skin on Your Wedding Day

The Ultimate Bridal Skin Prep and Maintenance Guide: An Evidence-Based Roadmap to Your Wedding Glow Introduction Every bride dreams of walking down the aisle with radiant, flawless skin. While makeup artists can enhance your features and create a stunning bridal look, truly beautiful wedding-day skin begins long before the wedding itself. The coveted "bridal glow" is not achieved through a single facial or miracle product. Rather, it is the result of months of strategic skincare, healthy lifestyle habits, and consistent maintenance. According to dermatologists, skin typically requires several weeks to months to complete natural renewal cycles. This means that brides who begin their skincare journey 6–12 months before their wedding often see significantly better results than those who wait until the final few weeks. This comprehensive guide explores the science behind bridal skin preparation, outlines an ideal skincare timeline, and provides expert-backed recommendations to he...

I Will Not Let You Go!

“…And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.”   Genesis 32:26 (KJV)   “…But he said, ‘I will not let You go unless You bless me!’”   Genesis 32:26 (NKJV)   “…But Jacob said, ‘I will not let you go unless you bless me.’”   Genesis 32:26 (ESV)   “…But Jacob said, ‘I will not let you go unless you bless me.’”   Genesis 32:26 (NLT)   Across translations, the words remain steady: “I will not let you go unless you bless me.” Whether in the King James, New King James, English Standard, or New Living Translation, Jacob’s cry echoes unchanged—a declaration of persistence, a refusal to release until heaven responds.  It was interesting to me that no matter what translation I read, this verse was very consistent. All four translations capture Jacob’s persistence in wrestling with God and refusing to let go until he received a blessing—a pivotal moment that led to his name being changed to Is...

THE DEVIL TRIED IT and I FELT LIKE A FOOL

I'm not exactly sure when I started liking him, but if I could pinpoint a single time when the feelings were undeniable, it was this year, and it started with a touch. He touched my neck; he wiped away my sweat. I was always aware that he had a crush on me from prior years, but I didn't pay any attention to it. I didn't entertain it. I couldn't. I didn't care who liked me or why. I didn't have time to waste on relationships. He started paying more attention to me and chatting me up every time he saw me, and I noticed, but I wasn't lonely enough to care. I considered him a friend—though not so much now, because "friend" is not a word I use casually anymore. I did that a lot in my teenage years and quickly learned the detriment. Okay, let me bring it back. I became determined and even more passionate about serving God, even if it would be to my detriment—it didn't matter. I will serve God till the end. My desire is to have a heart posture like Sa...

ARE YOU BLEEDING IN, OR ARE YOU BLEEDING OUT?

I didn’t write yesterday, so I didn’t post. I was caught up with getting my second novel ready for publication, and I also didn’t feel well. As the night continued, I felt even worse. I also didn’t want to post for posting’s sake. I needed to have something of substance to post about. I am still not feeling well, and even as I laid down last night, I felt guilty for not writing or posting, or for skipping my midnight prayer session. I hate that I didn’t suck it up and push through, because I feel as though I have a responsibility to give it my all—at all times. Maybe that's it too huh, I am my worst critic. I know how to be hard on myself and rarely show myself any grace or mercy. It's a good thing that God's grace is sufficient. He loves me enough and there is no condition.  And perhaps God isn’t asking for constant output. Maybe He’s asking for surrender.   So, here's the divine truth I know God wants to say to you even in this moment: “Come to Me, all you who are wea...

LORD YOU ARE MY PEACE

Lord, Give Me Peace There was a weight today. It was loud, dramatic—persistent. It settled over me like mist, quiet and cajoling, threading itself through my thoughts and movements. I couldn’t name it at first. It wasn’t fear exactly, but something adjacent. A sense that something was off, that something unseen was pressing against me. Like a whisper in the atmosphere, not from God, but from somewhere else—somewhere manipulative, somewhere false. I felt as though something bad was going to happen. Not in the physical sense, but spiritually. Like words were being spoken about me in places I couldn’t reach. Not truth. Not testimony. But distortion. Lies. And worse—people were listening, tuning in. I could feel it in the atmosphere. The ache of being misrepresented, of being spiritually exposed, settled in my gut. And yet, somewhere deep inside, I also knew: those hearing it did not believe it. They hear it, but they don’t receive it. That knowing didn’t erase the ache, but it kept me fro...
