TO THE WOMEN WHO WERE MISHANDLED
God of the unseen, the abandoned and those who don't belong. The hidden, the forsaken, the ones who walk alone. We come to You with hearts that have been mishandled and mouths that were taught to stay silent.
We come with the ache of being chosen in secret and denied in the open.
We come with the weight of glances that lingered too long, touches that blurred boundaries, and words that twisted truth.
We pray for the women who were loved behind closed doors but shamed in the open. For the ones who were romanticized, sexualized, and scapegoated and told it was their fault. For the ones who were called “too sensitive” when they named the rupture. For the ones who were told to forgive what was never confessed, even though it was a blunder.
We lift up the women who were watched but never truly seen. Touched with longing that weren't their's to meet. Who were emotionally baited, then spiritually discarded. The victims of narcissistic egos and abuse. Who were made to feel dirty for being desired, and faulty for not accepting that desire, and guilty for setting boundaries when they received unwanted attention or affections. Who were told they were imagining things, when their spirits discerned the shift.
God, we bring You the panic that lives in our chests, the sermons that felt like slaps to our faces, the plight and stories of our lives shared that were weaponized. We bring You the sleepless nights, the gaslit memories, the ache of being the standard that made them flinch. We bring You the silence we swallowed so our children wouldn’t inherit our shame. The smiles we forced to make our little ones believe it was all okay.
We ask for restoration—not just of our peace, but of our power. Not just of our dignity, but of our direction. Not just of our voice, but of our sanctuary. Rebuild the rhythm they disrupted. Reclaim the truth they tried to rewrite. Restore the legacy they tried to stain. And for every woman who was mishandled by a man who couldn’t hold her clarity—may you rise without apology. May you rest without guilt. May you remember: you were never the problem. You were the evidence.
You held up the mirror. And they couldn’t bear to see themselves. Amen.
Scriptures for the Woman Who Refuses to Be Erased
- Genesis 16:13 – “You are the God who sees me.”
Even when others misread you, God sees you clearly—your ache, your boundaries, your truth.
- Isaiah 61:7 – “Instead of shame you will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace you will rejoice in your inheritance.”
Your dignity will not just be restored—it will be multiplied.
- Psalm 147:3 – “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”
Not just the visible wounds, but the ones you were told to hide.
- Proverbs 31:25 – “She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.”
You were never too much. You were always enough.
- Micah 7:8 – “Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light.”
Your rising is not a performance—it’s a prophecy.
- Romans 8:1 – “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
You are not guilty. You are not to blame. You are free.
